The Team at Ventis were humbled to witness a touching act of generosity at the 2014 Christmas Party when upon learning at the Party they were receiving a refund for their Ventis as a prize, Bill and Robyn Higman immediately donated the full proceeds to the Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC).
Bill and Robyn, along with their daughter Jennifer, experienced tragedy in 2011 when their much loved 18 year old son Robert passed away.
Robert was born with sensory disabilities and was nurtured with much love and care in the RIDBC community where his cheeky, happy personality flourished.
Faced with a decision of whether or not to use the proceeds of the competition for a much-wanted trip to the UK, or donate to RIDBC, Bill and Robyn chose to honour Robert’s legacy. The Higman family could not speak highly enough of the fantastic work the team at RIDBC offered Robert to enrich his life and the support they offered to the family. Johanna Yule from RIDBC graciously accepted the donation and says the funds will assist the purchase of much needed rehabilitation equipment.
Congratulations to the Higman family, a true example of selflessness.
