Ventis Commercial Director, Dave Kennedy can now confirm that an independent report completed in July 2012 established that Ventis complies with the Alternative Solutions provisions of the BCA.
The report was completed by former Director of Housing and advisor to the Australian Building Codes Board – Stuart McLennan.
“Stuart was involved in the development of the BCA and is a highly regarded expert having been directly involved in its creation. He is regarded as one of Australia’s foremost authorities on the BCA,” says Kennedy. “I first discussed the BCA compliance of using the roof as a conductor for natural heating and cooling by drawing outside air through the roof space six years ago with Mr. McLennan and his opinion has not changed – that Ventis complies with the code.”
Kennedy continued saying, “We had already confirmed our compliance, however, we thought we would take another step and get an official, independent report. The report states that Ventis technology not only complies with the BCA but there are provisions within the BCA for avant-garde technologies such as Ventis to evolve antiquated and expensive methods to heat, cool and ventilate homes.
“We are very proud to be innovators at Ventis and are genuinely passionate about creating healthier more comfortable homes at a fraction of the price of existing home appliances,” said Kennedy. “This is supported by Australian homeowners from whom we continue to get positive feedback about the system and the financial and home health benefits it delivers to them.”
